A DHA-licensed doctor comes to your living room, at a time you pick, carrying the equipment needed for a full consultation. If you have never had a home visit before, here is exactly what happens.
Before the doctor arrives
Once your booking is confirmed you receive a tracking link on your phone. It shows the doctor assigned to you, the licence details, and the vehicle on its way. There is no app to download and no account to create. Keep your Emirates ID, your insurance card if you have one, and any medicines you are currently taking within reach. If you are booking for a parent or a relative, add their details at the time of booking so the medical record is created under the right person. A short call confirms the address, the building access and the parking, because a doctor circling a tower in Marina is a doctor who is late to somebody else.
A home visit is not a lighter version of a clinic visit. It is the same clinical standard, delivered in a place where the patient is calmer, more honest about symptoms, and surrounded by the medicines and reports we actually need to see.

During the consultation
The doctor takes your history, examines you and explains what is happening in plain language. Consultations usually run twenty to thirty minutes, which is longer than a typical clinic slot because there is no queue waiting outside the door. Family members can stay in the room and ask their own questions. Vital signs, symptoms and findings are entered into the medical record as the visit happens, not written up later from memory.
After the visit
Your notes, prescription and any test orders are filed in the electronic medical record immediately and shared to NABIDH, Dubai's health information exchange, so the next doctor who treats you can see your history. If blood tests are ordered, the nurse travelling with the doctor can collect the sample in the same visit rather than sending you out for a second appointment. Prescribed medicines are arranged for delivery, and a copy of everything reaches you on WhatsApp before the team leaves your building.
When a home visit is the right choice
Home consultations suit fever and seasonal illness, minor injuries, elderly patients who find travel difficult, follow-up reviews after surgery, and households with small children who would rather not sit in a crowded waiting room during flu season. They are not a replacement for emergency care. If there is chest pain, difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding, a suspected stroke or any sudden loss of consciousness, call 998 for an ambulance first.
